Computer Telephony

Computer Telephony Integration is sometimes called “CTI”, but is more often shortened to just “telephony” (pronounced tah-LEF-ah-nee). This can be a general term for any phone/computer convergence technology, but most often it is used to indicate the ability of the computer and the telephone to share data and communicate with each other.
The following are all examples of what is possible through telephony:
  • When a call comes in to your phone, a window appears on your computer with information for the caller from your contact management system.
  • Your speed dial entries in your telephone are available on your computer and you can use your computer to dial a call.
  • You can click on a contact in ACT! or Outlook or Goldmine to dial a call to that contact.
If your employees take and record calls, you can increase efficiency and reduce data entry errors, by utilizing computer telephony.
This type of technology requires expertise in telephone systems, computer hardware, and computer software. Most service companies know a lot about one expertise, but only enough about the others to get by. We have trained and certified employees in each discipline who can work together to implement these types of systems.
